RFQ of Ansen pipe repair bandage
1. Can repairs be done using the bandage only?
Yes, although a combination of Steel Putty along with the bandage should produce a more successful repair.
2.We suggest the thickness of the Repair Bandage to be a minimum of 10mm.
3. Pipe continues to leak - Not wrapped tight enough! Remove old application and reapply Steel Putty followed by a new Pipe Repair Bandage with a tighter and firmer wrap.
4. Manufacturer recommends this bandage be used only as a temporary repair.
5.For larger diameter pipes: Pipe Repair Bandage application involves a mechanical bind as well as a chemical adhesion. It is important that when applying it, it is pulled extremely tightly around the circumference of the pipe. This ensures a strong
mechanical repair, resulting in a more successful application. However, on larger diameter pipes less torque can be applied and therefore this can result in a less suitable repair. By using multiple bandages, greater internal pressure ratings may be achieved on larger diameter pipes.
6. Pipe Repair Bandage can be used underwater. The curing time may vary due to temperature of water.
